It provides a foundational overview of what is expected from you in your role so you can work safely, professionally, and confidently in care settings such as care homes, domiciliary care and community support. Standard 1 ensures that care staff clearly understand their duties, responsibilities and boundaries within their role. It sets out the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours that every worker must demonstrate from day one.
